Community partnerships can accomplish amazing goals to help the underserved –like providing a home.
The final inspections are completed, the last touch-up of paint, and sunny, new concrete patios are in place. At Langton Green, everyone, especially the individuals who live in the residential complex in Annapolis, has something to celebrate. A major two-year renovation to Langton’s residential housing units is officially finished. Generous funding from Arundel Community Development Services, Inc. (ACDS) made this extensive, two-year renovation possible.

Langton Green, Inc. is a warm, welcoming community that offers supports and services for intellectually and developmentally disabled adults in Anne Arundel County. These adults and their families describe Langton as “home away from home”. Fresh paint, concrete patios, new windows, roofing, remodeled kitchens are among the extensive changes to the residences, where many of the individuals share housing. ACDS ensures affordable housing for those in need, including those with special needs, and the physically and intellectually disabled.
“Thanks to the generous support of ACDS, in 2022 we began this ambitious project. It has been a major overhaul, with interior and exterior renovations to our residential complex, including remodeled kitchens and new outdoor spaces. These renovations are already improving the quality of life for the individuals in our care,” says John Iaquinta, chief development officer and the operations manager who oversees Langton’s 13-acre farm in Millersville, Md. “We are deeply grateful to everyone at ACDS who made this possible,” says Iaquinta.
Iaquinta joined ACDS leadership on September 27 for a walk-through of the renovated property.

Arundel Community Development Services, Inc. (ACDS) managed grant funding in the amount of $1,700,000 to finance the project. ACDS administered the various grants (totaling $1,700,000) to provide the much needed renovations to the units and shared spaces that individuals at Langton Green call “home”. The funding sources include: $400,000 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds; $800,000 in Community Development Block Grant Program; and $500,000 in Anne Arundel County General funds.
