Training to Grow Your Career!

At Langton Green our administrative and direct-support professionals (DSPs), are special!  We value our staff and provide a warm supportive work environment with extensive hands-on mentoring and training. Everyone is given the opportunity to grow professionally.

Staff are mentored and trained in support of our high standards—in fact, we continue to exceed the standards for our industry and have an excellent retention rate.  Our new office in Gambrills, Md., fully staffed in 2025, allows us to offer expanded in-person training to meet the needs of staff located throughout the county.

“At Langton Green, we attract the happiest, smartest staff, and we train you for anything you need. What we look for is willingness and courage. Starting a new career takes guts, but we’ll give you the training and support to succeed. We just want you to take that step and check it out for yourself. We’re confident you’ll love it.”

Kimberly Breton Iaquinta, CEO

In the last year, our staff—272—participated in more than 2,000 hours of training—including 25 different kinds of programs.  Our DSPs for example, complete more than 100 hours of training – on essential, positive behavior support, Medication Technician-Training Program (MTTP), and other Maryland Board of Nursing certifications.

“DSPs are special people, but more importantly they are certified professionals who are passionate about the quality of life of our residents,” says Christopher Jones, COO.  Langton’s DSPs work one-on-one with residents, helping them to learn new skills, participate in activities that interest them, and serve as productive, contributing members of the community.

“We offer room for growth. Many staff members start as direct support professionals and work their way up to leadership positions. We have mentoring programs to help people along the way, and if you’re open about your career goals, we will support you in reaching them.”     Christopher Jones, COO

Langton’s extensive training and support offers DSPs the opportunity to grow professionally.  “I love working here because they support you through both work and personal matters if needed. It’s friendly and they train you for different things if you’re not already trained on them. They help you prosper and do better. Some of the trainings I’ve taken are Mandt Training for behavior services, Certified Medication Technician (CMT) for passing medications, and various in-house trainings to qualify for certain roles,” says Patricia Crowner. Crowner joined Langton more than a decade ago (in 2014) and is now a Senior Program Manager, responsible for the managers and DSPs.

“To work in this field, you need patience, a caring heart, and everything else can be taught,” she says. Langton Green provides the in-person training and mentoring that staff need to grow professionally. Langton Green is a special community where you can grow professionally and make a difference. We are an award-winning agency, a leader in our field, a community that cares.
