It’s “back-to-school” season! Yet public schools remain closed and for Langton Green, programs for seniors and daytime activities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities remain closed. This means Langton Green’s staff face day-to-day challenges related to the pandemic –especially organizing daytime activities and managing the distribution of PPE supplies.
Thankfully, Langton Green received a grant from the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County’s (CFAAC) Community Crisis Response Fund that helps meet urgent needs related to the Covid-19 pandemic. Langton’s staff continue to provide high-quality, personalized support around the clock for each individual.
“We have unanticipated expenses. For instance, our administrative staff now make deliveries and check on all our homes for supplies. We’ve had to increase our administrative capacity for planning, facilitating, ordering, and organizing this process!”
-Kimberly Breton Iaquinta, executive director, Langton Green
Langton Green’s staff ensure that the grant funds are put to good use –for cleaning supplies, PPE, and other essentials so individuals at Langton can continue to work and have meaningful activities.
“Having adequate PPE means our staff are protected and can work –and individuals in our care, especially those who work on our farm, can be transported safely with social distancing,” says Kimberly Breton Iaquinta, Langton Green’s executive director. “In addition, we have unanticipated expenses. “We’re here 24/7 ensuring that everyone is safe and able to participate in meaningful activities,” says Breton Iaquinta.
“We are deeply appreciative to the Community Foundation for their support of some of the most vulnerable people in our county. Receiving this grant means we can provide much needed support and necessities to individuals in our care.”

“Langton Green was awarded the grant in three cycles, based on the work they are doing to support adults with intellectual disabilities in Anne Arundel County during the Covid crisis,” says Kristen Krall, CFAAC’s manager, grants & scholarships.
