Under a new outdoor pavilion on Langton Green’s main campus, Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman congratulated Langton Green and ACDS leadership for the completion of a multi-year renovation to Langton Green’s residential complex.
“There are many great people who made this happen—all for the great people who live here. This matters,” he said, “Affordable housing is a cause I truly care about.”
Pittman led the May 15 ribbon cutting for the recent, multi-year renovation of Langton Green’s apartment complex in partnership with Anne Arundel Community Development Services (ACDS). He was joined by members of the Anne Arundel County Council as well Delegate Shaneka Hensen, who read a citation from Senator Sarah Elfreth honoring Langton Green.
Kimberley Breton Iaquinta, CEO, Langton Green, Inc., Erin Karpewicz, CEO, ACDS, Langton Green and ACDS leadership and staff, as well as local leaders and professionals associated with the renovation project, all applauded the teamwork behind the extensive renovations, then joined Langton Green residents to tour the site.
Langton Green, Inc. is celebrating its 40-year history providing services and supports to intellectually and developmentally disabled (I/DD) adults so they can live the lives they choose as independently as possible.
The recent renovations highlight the power of community partnerships to bring affordable housing to marginalized communities in Anne Arundel County. Project management and funding consideration by Anne Arundel Community Development Services (ACDS) made this extensive, two-year redevelopment possible. The improvements and upgrades to our homes are significantly improving the quality of life for the (I/DD) adults who reside at Langton Green, Inc.
“There are many great people who made this happen—all for the great people who live here. This matters,” he said, “Affordable housing is a cause I truly care about.”
