Our Financial Health
Langton Green, Inc. was founded in 1984 as an independent nonprofit to provide homes, support, and a wide variety of services to men and women aged 21 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are from the state of Maryland. While many of the individuals we serve receive funding from state and federal sources to pay for services and support, Langton Green, Inc. is not a state organization — we are a 501-C3 nonprofit organization with high standards of care and personalized services and support.
Langton Green is licensed by Maryland Department of Health, who provide approval for Langton Green to render services in Maryland through and with the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). Langton Green is also accredited by the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL), a prestigious national organization that exceeds state and federal standards of care.
A large majority of the individuals we serve receive funding from the DDA. A few of our families choose to “private pay” for services. Our individuals and their families are able to afford our support programs and services through government funding for those with disabilities. Most of the individuals we support receive full financial support through state and federal programs.
Since 2006, Langton Green has been proud to display the “Standards for Excellence” seal from the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations, certifying that we have met the highest standards of ethical practices and accountability for nonprofit organizations across the State of Maryland.

Why Your Gift Matters
Your gift means that some of the “extras” needed for the individuals we serve can be provided. These “extras” are often essential needs that exist outside the services paid for by state and federal funding; they are provided for through generous donations and support from members of our community like you.
Thanks to our generous donors we are able to fund essential and meaningful activities for the individuals we support. Many cannot even afford the price of a movie ticket, for example.
Langton Green Community Farm Vocational Program
Our newest venture, the Langton Green Community Farm in Millersville, Md., is funded through generous donations and grants. The farm offers vocational training and supports to our individuals and is a resource for the wider community. Working side-by-side with volunteers and staff to plant, harvest, and sell fresh produce, the individuals we serve form meaningful relationships with each other and the community.
